The PSNR is one of the largest natural areas protected by the state of Peru , with an extension of 2,080,000 hectares . Protects the entire basin of the Pacaya and Samiria River and is created with the aim of conserving the resources of flora and fauna as well as the scenic beauty, characteristics of the humid tropical forest.
It is the third most important of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. It flows into the Rio Marañon , close to the village Santo Domingo, checkpoint entry area. The entire area of the basin is included in ecological floor of tropical rain forest . It is a river of sewage that runs approximately 180 km within which more than 12 lakes and 59 streams are located. Abundant wildlife such as birds, rodents, mammals, monkeys, Huacamayos , parrots , hawks , toucans, aquatic turtles ( taricayas and charapas) , variety of fish and alligators observed . Just as the largest freshwater fish in the world: the ” Paiche ” Arapaima gigas .

08.00 Departure to the city of Nauta via highway 100 kilometers from Iquitos- Private car. Hike to see the city of Nauta, older than Iquitos, then we will board our typical boat called “Pamacari” to navigate the river Marañón upstream, during the trip we will observe different riverside hamlets until arriving at the yanayacu / Pucate River, observing gray dolphins and bufeos rosados, then control in the Surveillance Post of Caserio Santo Domingo. We will sail to the Buenos Aires community where we will stay at the “Bromelias Pacaya Samiria Tour” shelter to spend the night in cabins with mosquito nets and shared bathroom. Night excursion knowing the wildlife of the area. Lunch dinner.
After breakfast we will go upstream to make a stop in a jungle and explore the area knowing part of the Flora & Fauna, being able to observe different types of birds and monkeys. In the afternoon, fishing for Piranhas and other species in a canoe. At night excursion in canoe or boat possibility of observing caimans and some other nocturnal species, fishing with felcha. Overnight in the camp with karpas. Breakfast lunch dinner
Observation of birds in their habitat, also monkeys and other wild species in canoe. Lunch will be on board since we will be sailing into the jungle. Arrival to the native community called “Yarina” we will interact with its inhabitants and we will know their way of life – overnight in the community house. Night hike observing the wildlife of the area. Breakfast lunch dinner.
Penetration hike through primary jungle to know and observe its great and varied biodiversity. Lunch we will undertake the return to the city of Nauta. Stop at the Santo Domingo Surveillance Post. We will arrive to Nauta and we will approach our private mobility to move to the city of Iquitos.
